PROJECT DETAILS
The Devrekani–Çatalzeytin Road is the section of the Devrekani–Çatalzeytin provincial road (No. 37-01) between km 27+535 and km 35+537, which connects Kastamonu province to the Black Sea coastal road, surrounding districts, and Sinop province.
The road in this section is geometrically and physically below standard, insufficient, and has a surface-treated asphalt pavement; it is narrow and winding.
It passes through a densely forested area where road-protection forests are located. The Devrekani–Çatalzeytin section is a region with intensive production of forest products, and this road is also important for transporting these products.
The road in this section is geometrically and physically below standard, insufficient, and has a surface-treated asphalt pavement; it is narrow and winding.
The number of vehicles has increased since the project was prepared, especially in summer months, due to interest in the region’s national parks and sea and plateau tourism. During flood-related disasters in the Bozkurt and Çatalzeytin areas, the transportation difficulties experienced in reaching the region further highlighted the importance of improving and upgrading the standards of the existing road.
