PROJECT DETAIL

The Devrekani-Çatalzeytin Highway is the section between km 27+535 and km 35+537 of the provincial road 37-01, which connects the province of Kastamonu to the Black Sea coastal road, districts, and the province of Sinop.

In this section, the road is geometrically and physically substandard, inadequately surfaced with asphalt, and characterized by sharp turns and narrowness.

The way passes through dense forest cover, including Conservation Forests. The segment between Devrekani and Çatalzeytin is a region where forest products are intensively produced, and the transportation of these products holds particular significance for the Devrekani-Çatalzeytin highway.

The traffic volume has increased, especially in the summer months, due to the growing interest in the region's national parks, sea, and plateau tourism since the project was prepared. The challenges in accessing the region during disasters caused by floods in the Bozkurt and Çatalzeytin sections have further emphasized the importance of raising the standards and improving the existing way.
